DAY 17 OF SOLSC

Today the students read their comments from others since the beginning of the month and learned how to respond back. I love how motivated they are to write, ask and answer questions and go back and read and respond. Check out today's little slice of their life!

Researching Community Helpers

Last week parents and family members came into our classroom and shared information about their jobs. The students built their understanding by listening and asking questions. A special thank you to:
Laura Glover, Katherine Tagalos,
Josh and Jenny Chiamulera,
Kathy Dolch, Kristi Pospychala,
Dr. Bobbi Voermans and Billie Skubal.

Today the students chose the occupation they wanted to do more research on. Students are using many informational texts and e-books to find facts. See their choices below:

After the students read and record their information they will begin to make their Community Helper poster using the app and create a report using Google Documents.

Take a look at some of the posters that were finished today!

Day 3 SOL Classroom Story Challenge!

Day 2 of Slice of Life Classroom Challenge and Wacky Wednesday!

When it is writing time they find somewhere comfortable and begin to share their thoughts. They are quite amazing little ones! Click link below.

Today was "Wacky Wednesday" based off the book by Dr. Seuss. The students and I definitely showed our spirit by dressing up wacky.

We began our day by participating in a Hangout on Air with Mrs. Rumney. She read the Sneetches to us and other classrooms and then the students were able to ask her questions about Dr. Seuss. None of the students in my classroom had ever heard the story Wacky Wednesday until today. We listened to the story twice so they could go back and catch all of the details.
